ASG 625 Home Use Question

I just acquired a used ASG 625, and intend to re-deploy it for my home setup.
I know it is way overkill, but it was at too good a price to pass up [;)] .

My question is am I better off putting ESXi on it then the Software ASL, or just re-format the disks and putting Software ASL with home license.  
Realizing in both cases I lose the LCD display - will the Software ASL recognize the RAID controller ?

Any other suggestions ? 
I have read the postings on how to get the LCD working, and will try that.

One other question - can someone give me a pointer as to how the ports are set up - Is there only one internal switch , or several switches. i.e Should I see eth0 & eth1 or more ?

    Gary, if that thing is in good condition, you really should consider selling it.  A new one is almost $12K.  That would make a great Hot Standby machine for any company with a similar one.  I'm just suggesting that you might want to keep track of how to turn it back into a 625.

    ESX may be nice and everything, but for home use I dunno how many private VMs does one guy really need?? [:O]

    In most cases there is this very frustrating low upload bandwidth or hosting services are prohibited in ISP's contract.

    Really, sell it, make some nice $$ and invest in suitable but still powerful low-power equipment.

    BTW: You can hear it screaming through the floor being left alone in the cellar, this beast is so noisy.

    Well I am open to selling it. I must confess I was not expecting to have 18 eth ports - I kinda figured they would be internally connected via a switch or similar.

    I believe it is in like new condition - Box damage ONLY (haven't received it yet to verify).
    It includes mounting brackets, 4 keys, serial cable and RJ45 cable.
