Dual ethernet mini-ITX Atom boards

I was planning on buying one of those mini-ITX atom boards and and running Astaro on it, but I need more information regarding the ethernet support. 

As of today I've only been able to find one of these boards with dual ethernet devices, which will only be available by the end of the month (Jetway JNC91 - http://mini-itx.com/19499281). Has anyone heard of any other Atom dual LAN boards?  

I've read the thread  concerning the Jetway C7 motherboard and the lack of support of the gigabit ethernet devices due to a driver bug, and I suspect the same Realtek devices could be integrated in the JNC91. Does anyone has any information regarding the support of these devices in the near future?

    Hi Barry. 
    That sounds good. I had been planning on adding a second NIC to the Intel board, to save some money. But for simplicity sake, I may spend the extra money and go with the MSI board. I would only be using it in my home, so having tons of throughput for a lot of users wouldn't be a concern for me. Just as long as it wouldn't be any slower than my WRT-54GS...

    Don't use the motherboard lying on its side, the chipset fan doesn't like it and wears out very quickly becoming very noisey.

    Finally a Intel D945GSEJT board replaced my old P3 box. It is made of these components:

    Intel D945GSEJT 1,6GHz Atom single core
    1GB RAM
    20GB 2,5" IDE disk
    second PCI NIC (100mbit Realtek chip)
    Morex 80W 12V power supply

    So far only packet filter is active, but cpu usage is at 2% average, memory at 19%. Plenty of headroom.

    I know this is not a modding board, but it never hurts to save power. So I would like to advertise the components in my sig :-). Switch and access point get their power from the same power supply.

    Btw, that FW system beats BarryG's by 20%. IMHO great for home use, if you think you need to run Astaro.

    I have been looking at that board for awhile now, I wanted to run same setup. I was going to give it 2GB of memory and 2.5" sata drive, and run IDS, Gateway AV and VPN. With 2 maybe 3 users max. I'm thinking it should have enough power.

    So far I think this is the best (in case of power consumption) and cheapest solution for home use. It may be different when the pinetrail board come out at the end of the year.

    The MSI board Barry used suffers from a high price tag and for it to be really power efficient, I think you would have to use a PicoPSU. In contrast, the Intel board needs only a 12V external power supply to feed it. However, due to the second pci nic the case solution might be more expensive.

    Hi, fwiw my MSI board has Intel NICs versus the Realtek on the Intel board. Does the Realtek do VLANs?

    Note you can't get a PCI card into the smaller Mini-ITX cases.

    Valid point. I dont know, how can I check this? You could always add a intel nic.

    I thought on using a single nic with the vlan capable switch, but that cost me too much headache (and time).

    Agreed, I wrote about that. But how did you solve the power supply problem? as far as I know the MSI board has an ATX connector.

    Hi Legoman, I'm using the power supplies which came with the Morex T-3310 case from Logic Supply... it has an external AC->12VDC brick, and an internal DC-DC ATX power supply.

    The MSI IM-945GSE-B has a DC power input instead of ATX, but is not as widely available as the -A. There is also a -C with DC power, but only one NIC.

    Anyways, my -A only draws 17watts average, less at idle (14w); I don't know how much difference it would have made, but I suppose it's one less point of failure to not have 2 power supplies.

    PineTrail/PineView is definitely interesting but afact there's no clear indication that it will be any faster, but at least smaller/lower power.

    Didnt knew about the B variant. I could hardly get the normal one here in Germany.

    More important seems to me that we now have two boards which can run Astaro, cost a reasonable amount and do have a nice power consumption. The available processing power of the atom cpu is more than sufficient for home use, mine has an average of 2,7% and hardly goes over 20%.
