I have a Supermicro X5DAL-TG2 MB (latest BIOS rev 1.3b) with Dual Silicon 3112A controllers running 2 x Seagate ST3250823AS HDDs. When I install ASG 7.101 all seems to be OK but when the system tries to boot it asks for a system disk.
ASG 7 reports the 3112 SATA chipset as being supported?

During installation ASG 7.1 reports two SATA 250G drives. The secondary drive shows up as "(UNUSED)". I have tried the install with and without RAID and ended up with the same results. I tried disabling the second SATA controller and making sure that the "BIOS boot block" setting was writable.
I installed ASG 6.303 on the same SATA mirrored array and it boots OK. I am not sure if ASG 6.303 is using the RAID though as it reported the second drive as ‘UNUSED’ upon installation. Is there a way to check the mirroring without unplugging a drive?
Why does ASG 7.1 fail to boot / recognize the drive and/or array but yet the earlier version 6.303 is OK?
Someone posted about using FDISK to make the array / drive bootable but that does not sound right to me.
