setup problem

My current setup is as follows.

eth0 - internal NIC - 10.0.0.1
eth1 - external nic - 192.168.2.10 subnet - 255.255.255.0 gateway - 192.168.2.1

ADSL router - 192.168.2.1

I have added packet filtering as the following:

internal_interface - any - any - allow

But i still cant get to the outiside world? im sure im forgetting something but what?

    A typo or?

    Try setting a rule like internal_network any any allow to try things out. If sucessfull then narrow things down.   

    Using the filter live log is always a good help

    ....if you are NOT using masquerade on the astaro box then there is a static route missing on the adsl router for the network 10.0.0.0. Nexthop is the extern interface of the astaro box.

    I chatted with him on ICQ. It appears that the onboard Ethernet circuit on his VIA EPIA motherboard, which he configured for his External interface, is not talking at all. He can't ping it from the outside, with Ping turned on in Webadmin. So he has been struggling with what has effectively been a single interface (Internal only) machine here.

    I assume that since he has a "Router" from his provider which I do know about it probaby will not allow him to turn it off and allow ASL to handle the routing. A lot of people have them 2 wire routers here I hate them!!!

    I agree with you. I initially had my ASL v4 box in behind a Linksys BEFSR41 router. After 6 weeks I removed the Linksys and sold it.

    I didn't need the extra hazzle of having to open up a static NAT mapped port on the Linksys every time I made configuration changes in ASL that affected what live ports I presented to the External interface.
