Sophos Roadmap 2015

Hi,

Just attended the Sophos UTM 9.3 Webinar today and they showed us this RoadMap.

There is hopefully something to look forward to :-)

    I didn't see anywhere on that road-map of discontinuing UTM for Home Use, so i am curious why the knee-jerk reaction to thinking that would take place?

    Where did that come from, or did I miss it somewhere?

    I do too hope they keep the home edit running, again many many sales that have been made has been by my knowledge of the product and my ability to test it all at home and show it to a live audience before rolling it into production in a work site, and testing other features as they come out and finding bugs etc... 

    it is a brilliant product, I hope the product team doesn't kill it!

    Well I was just at the Sophos Partner Conference in Rome, and they did not point anything out in public...but I talked to others after the sessions, and for now there will be no change...but you never know...

    One thing is for sure, the Base License will be changed, so it includes VPN and Wifi and therefore the Free Essentials License will be removed.

    I think not having the free Home version is a bad move. 

    I am trying to sell Sophos UTM to the company I work for, but we just bought a new building and new machinery, they want to wait. They never would of heard of Sophos UTM if there was not a block of Home users who are the silent salesman pushing a great security platform.  You have someone on the inside of an organization, who has passion  because they too use Sophos UTM, They also have the ear of top officials in the organization.

    They would be stupid to the max if they do. By using the Home Edition since v5(?), I introduced Astaro to my company. Meanwhile we have a 525 Cluster, two 220 Cluster, two 220 stand-alone, three 120 stand-alone, all Full Guard and 35 RED 10, and dozens of APs.

    I World be carefull expecting too much, but yes the community is worth gold!

    If you look at the UTM 9.35 branch, it does mention "improved stability" [:)] 

    Regardless, any more news on where we're at with any of this ? Looking at the past 2-3 firmware updates, it seems that Sophos clearly has got the message about improving reliability and fixing bugs rather than just adding more features and breaking existing things !
