Netflixs and 9.201-23

Every since upgrading to 9.201-23 Netflix's has been unstable.  Quality fluctuates standard definition to high definition.  Connections even drop making me restart the stream.  I had no issues before the upgrade easily getting Super HD definition all the time.  I have made no changes to the configuration  and bypass content scanning for streaming content. I see nothing logged in the IPS, Firewall or web filter logs.  Has some default configuration been changed in 9.201-23?  Anybody else experiencing this?

    not here...however if you upgraded and this install has been running for a while i would make a config backup and reinstall directly from the iso.  I jsut did that to my vm..it had been up for quite some time..[:)]

    After further investigation I found out that one the NICs was getting reset often.  So looks like I had a failing NIC.

    I've run into this issue during beta, addressed it by performing a full ISO install and applying the configuration file. I then performed an upgrade using Up2Date to the current release (9.201-23) and the problem returned. Mind you, I only experience this problem with iOS devices. Disabling Web Filtering, adding hosts to skip lists, and so on seems to be futile.

    Today I had enough frustration that I decided to perform another install via the 9.201-23 ISO, however, instead utilized the Active-Passive Sync feature. Unfortunately the problem still exists, which suggests the sync may have transferred the problem with it. I plan to do a full ISO install and apply the configuration file next in hopes that it will address the problem. Otherwise it suggests the issue is 9.201-23 itself. 

    I really hope one way or another this problem disappears. I use UTM to improve my networking experience as opposed to hinder it. Family and guests are losing faith in my once acclaimed solid network. I'll report my findings hopefully this weekend.

    I'd also like to add that it's not limited to Netflix. General web browsing, YouTube, and various apps seem to be affected as well. In some cases, like Pandora, the buffer seems to be enough to not present interruption. 

    On the other hand, local streaming, namely from my Plex Server, does not seem to have an issue either. I do not believe the buffer is the cause in this scenario. I simply think local access is unaffected, however, without proof it's simple conjecture.

    keep in mind that if you install form the iso and reimport your config and the problem persists it might be your config NOT the utm software.

    also don't install in HA just do one utm for now..make it as simple as possible to eliminate faults.

    I'm in agreement with that conclusion. Upon an ISO reinstall and the problem persists, it makes sense that the config is corrupt since very few people are having this issue. 

    The only saving grace here is that I've done this once before and it cured all of the issues. I'm hoping for the same result. [:D] And yes, one change at a time is generally how I operate to pinpoint the problem.

    Great news! I manually used Up2Date bringing the UTM to 9.202-33 and I'm no longer seeing any stuttering with iOS devices! [:D]

    Now when I watch Netflix and accidentally fall asleep, I'll wake up to a new season of the series! [:P]

    There is still an outstanding bug with intel NICs being reset with certain settings. I don't have the details of the changed settings required to overcome the issue while waiting for a new intel NIC driver.

    The details are in the beta forum. This thread contains a lot of information. Most of us are probably expecting a new driver, but in reality the patch could be a command line string to disable the failing features while a new driver is built and tested.

    RFCat_vk is right.

    It's the fault of the annyoing Intel NIC bug with Sophos UTM. Streamingservices will crashing the NICs a lot.
