Cannot access webadmin

Last nite I successfully installed astaro but  i can not access web admin on my laptop.

I had connected in following:

modem - switch - astaro - laptop

i type the ip address got on last screen of installation but nothing coming up.

It says unable to connect to internet.

try turning off firewall on laptop but no success


If sm1 can help me I will really appreciate that

    Hi,

    If you still can't access the internet with the packet filter rule Barry mentioned you should make sure you have created a NAT masq rule as previously mentioned. 

    Also did you configure dhcp on the astaro or did you assign a static IP address to your computer? Either way make sure that on the computer you are using to try to access the internet that it has a default gateway set to be the Internal IP address of the astaro. 

    If it is still not working it might be useful if you posted some screenshots of your configuration such as firewall, nat, dhcp, dns.

    Under DHCP I changed DNS to open DNS. Is it safe?

    And how I can block URL's in firewall. Because I tried under web security to block specific 
    URL but still it's coming up?

    Normally, you would want to set the clients to use the Astaro as a DNS proxy, then set forwarders to external DNS servers on the Astaro.

    Where exactly are you setting these blocks and how have you configured them?  What are the pages that you've tried to block?  If https, do you have HTTPS Scanning enabled?  What mode is the Web Security proxy running in?

    You could probably save yourself a great deal of pain and frustration by taking the time to read the in-line help pages/admin guide.

    I had just type the URL in block URL box...

    For example www.****.com

    But it still open. I had changed transparent to standard mode.

    Read the inline help manuals. Start with accessing the manuals in the web proxy section. It's a good starting point for you relative to your question.
