ASG halts all traffic at the same time everey day.

Every day the ASG is halting traffic. No WebGui is accessable. Traffin on lan and wlan stops ( according to activity lampsvon ports).

Its likt turning it off.

I cold start it and all traffic resume normaly. 
It happes that its comming to normal after 20min but i cant wait that long. I'm running some servers and my wife get pissed cuse the TV stops to.

This happens GMT +1 22.50 every day.

Some help please before my wife kills me....

    Yestrday i disable everything exept FW and intruder..and the asg has not stopped once in 24h

    Recommendation with ASG V8 is 1GB of Memory. The old ASG120 with the 800MHz Via C3 is simply too slow for IPS - I use the similar one as Home ASG for my parents, and if i activate IPS, it will go into knees (even if I updated it's memory up to the max. possible 1GB) if traffic will raise towards 10MBit/s.

    As long as you're on the way with the 512MB RAM, there is no way to use IPS under V8 if other memoryintense features as Webproxy are in use too...

    i now got an 8/8mbit fiber that upgrade to 25/25 in 3 weeks.
    so.. what can i use this box to then? shooting target?

    the box has now 48h uptime whit "Firewall is active with 9 rules" and "Intrusion Prevention is active with 6045 of 11214 patterns" (IPS?).

    CPU load dropped form Average 30% to 5% when i deactivated almoast everything.

    Memory load dropped form Average 75% to 40%

    i do notice that if i stress the WebGUI it stalls fro a minute and then load the page.

    so is there a setup that works whith this HW that i can use whithout beeng murdered by my secon half?

    a test on speedtest.net i get 15/14 on this setup
    on IPS deactivated i get 26/23.. LOL...

    hmm i already got the 25/25 connection..

    Hi,
    Have you tuned the IPS rulesets to exclude rulesets that you don't need?

    You might also want to disable the traffic classifier, as it is CPU-hungry.

    that machine is waaaay to weak to be honest in all regards.  I would be looking for new hardware.

    Hi Dan,

    I honestly don't think there is. You may be able to limp along for a while with pretty much everything turned off but you may want to start looking to replace the hardware. I've built Atom based systems that will meet or exceed the current(rev5) 120's performance from off the shelf components for around $350 so they're cheap enough to build.
