Buying ASG120 without licence & support

Hi,
Is it possible to buy the ASG120 for home use? I've been quoted a price for the hardware from a reseller and gone ahead and ordered only for Sophos to now refuse to ship the hardware without me buying a license & support which is nearly the same price again! [:@] All i want is a nice low power box that I can put the home license on, is that to much to ask??

He (could be a bad assumption) will need a second NIC.

Try to get an Intel one.

What will be the speed of your internet connection?

I've found that my (single-core) Atom CPU is limited to about 60mbps by the IPS and Classification Daemon (on Astaro 7.5x).

I only have a 20mb ADSL connection at the moment so should be good to go with the atom even if I upgrade to 40mb fibre at a later date

if you go with the 525 you'll be able to easily handle 100 megabits depending on your userload.

That mainboard I linked has a dual core D525 which supports HT. [:)]

Hiya. Officially, this is completely possible to buy hardware without licenses at retail. While its not possible to apply home use keys to appliances running the hardware image, you can certainly buy them as x86 hardware (others have had success running the software version on the platforms).

Kindly PM me with whom you spoke, (along with your contact information) and I'll get you fixed up and educate/adjust where the miscommunication came from.
