End point security

Hi folks,
when I built the current ASG I used the 8.201 ISO and the up2date package and restored from a backup created using the beta version with end point security enabled.

I don't have endpoint security running on any of the test boxes I was using during the beta.

My ASG log shows the end point security is running. How do I stop the service?

    Nobody has answered my question on how to remove EPS.

    I have reviewed a number of the answered provided and in hindsight they are wrong.

    1/. restoring a backup does not install a process that is not supposed to be in the released software
    2/. restoring a backup does not create a logfile for the process in 1.
    3/. the logfile had values in it.
    4/. if the software is not in the ISO, then the configuration log should have an error about the missing functions during the restore.

    So, how do I stop the EPS process.

    The ASG is built from the latest 8.201 ISO with the 8.202 up2date applied.

    Now running on the 8.202 ISO ans still the EPS software runs. I have a 1.3mb EPS log file. Not bad for something that isn't supposed to be in the build?

    The old EPS files still exists in 8.202.  I'd guess that they will be removed in the upcoming 8.300.

    The shell command to enable EPS only enables the feature to show up in WebAdmin.  I tried to figure out a way to get rid of it while on the road last Friday night, but wound up blowing away my access to WebAdmin on my box.  Ooops.  

    My best guess for how to stop it, without knowing the super-secret squirrel granular command, would be to:

    1)  Enable EPS in WebAdmin using:
    touch /var/sec/chroot-httpd/var/webadmin/show_epp
    /etc/init.d/httpd restart

    2)  Disable through WebAdmin
    3)  Take config-backup, reinstall from 8.202, and restore config-backup.  This should remove the feature from WebAdmin again.

    If I understand correctly, Astaro Endpoint Security will not be developed in the future anymore, but will be Sophos Endpoint Security?

    Correct.  It will be based on Sophos Endpoint, with greatly expanded functionality, but it's still a bit early to say what the final naming convention will be.
