impan in but not out ? Astaro, Home

I'm plying with Astaro, home license version, i actually like it been reading and playing and getting things working really well.  I'm running both untangle and astaro.

Not together both on separate ip's.

Right now I;m behind Astaro, and im able to receive my gmail imap, but i can't send out on imap ? whats with that ? 

This is a fresh install of astaro.

Pattern version: 20237
Last check: 1 minutes ago

    What do you see being blocked in the packet filter log?

    Also, I'm a bit confused.  When I send to gmail from Outlook, the traffic goes out on port 26, not an IMAP port.

    I don't know where the packet filter log is..  Where is that ? 


    Also my in and out server for gmail are imap.gmail.com using Outlook.

    I looked around for a good 5 hours, still can't see where the port is blocked or where to change it.

    Outbound server should be smtp.gmail.com: http://www.google.com/help/hc/images/gmail_77689c_en.gif

    In WebAdmin, you can reach all logs in 'Logging'.

    That picture you posted, is old, and on outlook 2010, it's different. 



    Port 587 is being blocked,

    Fixed it just edited it in the filter.

    Added 587, mail now sends [:)]

    Good work!  Instead of just telling you to make the PF rule, I wanted you to let learn about the logs.  I look forward to your participation here.

    Do you have a link to a beginners guide how to setup a VPn now ?  What free vpn client would you suggest ?


    2nd,  where can i buy a license for this software for my house ?

    For home use, the license is free - just go to http://www.myastaro.com/ and register.

    The standard client in Windows for L2TP is almost perfect (in today's world).

    I know the home license is free, but i would like to see more features and make my own logos appear when the firewall stops things.

    We are limited to 50 internal ip addresses ?

    From what I understand the Home License offers almost everything the commercial version offers, you just have to build your own hardware. The limited customization is a small price to pay for access to the full product, and a fair trade in my books.

    We are. It used to be 10IP's so I'm not complaining. [;)]
