[ QUOTE ] Novell is a great product, I'm just suprised how many people are using it still [:)]
[/ QUOTE ]Don't be so surprised. There are a lot of NetWare users out there still. Novell GroupWise alone, Novell's enterprise email system, which runs on NetWare servers, currently have an installed base of around 37 million users. For basic NetWare file and print, the user base must still be more than 100 million seats.
Today, that might be chump change compared to the Microsoft Active Directory seat count, which is around four times greater, but the NetWare/NDS/eDirectory technology remains a very significant networking platform. The reason for this is simple. Novell's NDS/eDirectory domain structure, which is fully X500 compatible, and as easily divisible between server as DNS, really works much better than Microsoft's Active Directory. Anyone intimately familiar with both can tell you this.
