I know users have been requesting this for some time. You can get Puresecure to work with ASL pretty easily if you install the Pluspack. You can get it to work without the Pluspack by compiling on another machine and copying a handful of files. If there is enough interest I can dig up my old instructions on how to do this.
It would be nice if ASL had integrated IDS sensor functionality.
Plans are in the works. While I can't say whether or not it will be released anytime soon, or at all free for that matter, I am currently integrating a top of the line IDS solution into the Astaro distribution. It is planned to take approximately 3 weeks on my end to integrate the code and for testing. However talks with Astaro for a full scale integration into their release may take longer. Know that this is being worked on and while I obviously can't speak for them seems to be given a lot of attention by Astaro as I have been put in charge of coding it by my IDS company who is in talks with them.
Hi, is your question mentioned to an interaction with an external IDS or do you mean the old question of an IDS on the ASL-Box. For external IDS: Yes there is one, it is "packet-alarm" and there is an interaction and the possibility of firewall-hardening. For internal IDS: The last what i hear of an Astaro employee was : no there will be no IDS-internal in ASL this was on CeBit 2003.
