10 protected IP's?

In the "home user licens" u have 10 protected ip adresses,
are the 3 ip's on the ASL box excluded, 
or is it ASL and 7 other ip's!   
I use 3 nic's on my ASL and they have an ip each, can I have 10 or 7 computors on my network not counting the ASL box!

    The license count applies to machines BEHIND the firewall.  Printers, PC's etc.

    So 10 total devices behind the firewall.

    How does Astaro count the IP address? Ping?

    Since print servers without default gateways don't deliver any packets to the Astaro gateway, how does it know?

    Also, what about networks connected to other WAN's?

    For an example, I have a customer with two gateways, one to the Internet, and the other to a corporate WAN with thousands of hosts on it. If any host on the corporate WAN Port Scans my customer's LAN, will these hosts on the WAN be considered as protected IP's and count against the license?

    I just have a standart home license and my DHCP has issued way more than 10 leases. Any explaination for that?

    From what I've read regarding licensing before on the forums:

    You must have as many licenses as you have IP's PROTECTED BY ASTARO.

    Though this could be interpreted a number of ways, if you are confused suggest you contact ASL sales to clear this up.

    If you have multiple IP's on one NIC on a server I think each IP counts against the total count.

    Unsure how ASL counts how many you have, but sometimes ASL counts wrong.  I've had ASL stating that I have 275 IP's protected which is a good trick since I only have 30 PC's and less than 50 IP addresses in use.

    IIRC Astaro only counts the IP addresses that actually pass through the firewall. So... if you have a print server, but it never contacts the internet, it shouldn't get counted.

    Is there any way to see the IP addresses that currently make up the count?

    From what i've read, it just won't allow any more to be active past that 10. If you are running DHCP, it will issue more than 10, but only 10 can be in use at a time.

    No. IIRC, Only the first 10 will be able to route through the firewall, whether that be to the 'net, or another subnet. The rest will get dropped.
