[9.000][ANSWERED] vmware - Suggested settings?

With version 9, two vCPU and 6GB RAM, there is less CPU use than with previous V8 releases.  Really happy with performance so far.

This tale that vmware needs to wait for the same number of physical cores to be free as you have vcpu's USED to be true.

As of esx 4.1 this is no longer the case. A white paper about it is here:

Still, to suggest someone assign all cpu's to a single VM really isn't the best advice and as someone else said, that's more than I assign my Exchange and SQL servers.

If you read my posts carefully, you'll notice that I always suggested to go bare metal before i suggested that... ;-)
