[8.900][BUG] unable to install Hyper-V

the first error i get at boot is about
drivers/rtc/hctosys.c: unable to open rtc device (rtc0)

then when i proceed with install it does not find any network adapters. I am using the standard adapters and not the legacy ones.

hyper-v host:
hyper-v host 4 x 2.4 ghz 10 gigs ddr3 ecc 2x1tb in raid 1 and 2x500 gig in raid 1. I do have acc, server 2008 r2 ent and astaro 8.3 as vm's on this machine. interfaces are 1 broadcom and two intel gigabit.

Hi William,

try the legacy adapters in hyper-v, they'll work for the moment.

I'm not sure if this still works with Windows7, but under XP you can press the ALT key together with PrtScr to get a screenshot of the current Window only. And, back then when had a Windows PC as my main workstation, there was an easy to use little program called MS-Paint in the Accessories folder that did the job of cropping images.

May i ask you to try these options and post the screenshots again?

I posted new shots as jpgs...the forums scale them down to 1024 by 768 ill post a url to my own server once I get out of the doctors office

i tried using the legacy nics. They install but i can't ping to the instance and the instance can't move traffic out..so it's effectively just as dead..[:)]

Install it with the legacy network adapters. After the installation remove the legacy network adapters and add the virtual. Now you can assign an ip-address through the shell (ifconfig eth3 172.16.1.1 netmask 255.255.0.0 up)

It works like a charm [:)]

I tried koslofski's hint but after removing the nic and attaching the new one in hyper-v... how do I log into the shell? I haven't set any passwords yet and I can't access the webadmin interface because no traffic flows at all.
