[9.302-2][BUG] Adapter E1000E hangs/reset

The Mantis ID #32902 is now being worked on. We are planning to release a fix for this issue in Version 9.304.

disabling TSO is not enough here. Please disable GRO and GSO for this nic as a workaround:

ethtool -K ethX gso off
ethtool -K ethX gro off

In my case disable only TSO was enough!!

Huh, why announce? I guess this NIC has been addressed together with the other ones, especially those inside the official appliances.

Probably because this NIC was properly identified during the 9.2 Beta (enough info, as requested above).

Hi, lots of people, including myself, were still having trouble with the 82574, and possibly other, NICs AFTER the 9.2x beta completed.

There are several threads about users still having trouble in recent 9.2x versions.

I have been watching for an announcement of a fix so I can re-test my new i5 system, and I have kept my Atom system with dual 82574 NICs on 9.1x.

I was working directly with support during the 9.2 beta, fwiw.

Agreed, sorry to bump all these different intel nic threads. Just want this to be visible. I have not tried just disabling tso instead of gro and gso, I dont know if its enough or not.

If we indeed need intel to fix this, couldnt we have this hardware acceleration disabled by default right now until they get their act together? Its annoying to reset after every up2date.

Please post your UTM version #, and the info requested earlier by Mario:

Probably never, if you don't provide the necessary information:

- Exact chip type
- PCI PnP ID (ven & dev), output of "lspci -vn" for NIC
- Output of "ethtool -k ethX"

I've installed last update 9.304 and this bug is not fixed, the network adapter continues to hang and reset. [:@]

one workaround is to use a vm...[:)]
