[9.070][NOTABUG] Webproxy not functioning

Ah ok, that may be it. But mine was unresponsive for at least 15 minutes (time to figure out what was wrong). A pattern update shouldn't take that long ;-)

The log in the OP looks normal, all of that is to be expected.

The crash in ulogd is already being looked into, I know there have been issues with it crashing at startup/shutdown.  I believe the fix for this made it into 9.070.

I don't know why proxy was unresponsive for >15 min after upgrade, but the virus update issue is a likely culprit.  Unless someone has more to add to that, I'd say no new issue here.

I keep having issues with the Webproxy. After every reboot of ASG (version 9.075-8 now), I've lost webbrowsing. I have to disable the web filtering in order to have web access again. Eventually I can enable web filtering and it's functioning, but that's 15+ minutes after reboot.

Reading other threats si too mainstream!!!

*sigh*, what other threads? Those talk about segfaults of the http proxy. My kernel.log doesn't report any segfaults but still the proxy isn't functioning. Also, this thread is marked as a MYTH,  but it appears it isn't.

I bet the 15 mins delay will hapen if you reconnect WAN. Not only restarting UTM

 Proxy is working again. I changed the single scan engine from Sophos to Avira (from management -> system settings -> scan settings). After that, the proxy started functioning again.

 My kernel.log doesn't report any segfaults but still the proxy isn't functioning. Also, this thread is marked as a MYTH,  but it appears it isn't.

This was marked at "notabug" at that time because u stated that the proxy is working again. And this was in 9.070.
If you have other issues (again) with it please open another post with the beta version you are using and the scenario you used, for an easier way to reproduce it.

What was the bug then? Slow updating of AV-engine or proxy issue?

none of them specifically, but a bug in one of the applications that causes the system to become unusable for about 10-15 minutes depending on your UTM hardware. 
Can be a link dropping, internal or external, PPPoE.
