Why are we bothering to post and help this lame duck product if Sophos refuse to respond and are trying to win over the community that can make or break this sorry excuse of a replacement to a product that works.
In my opinion, feature improvements and bug lists for V1 release are closed.
I've noticed that there are no more forum replies from developers since the last two weeks or so. I guess that they are now busy in rushing to release V1 before the announced deadline.
The first impact should be on Cyberoam users. If the announced 2015 roadmap is still valid, this will be mandatory upgrade for them (no more Cyberoam OS firmware releases in future, like for Sophos UTM).
I love their colour scheme [:)] just annoys me that Sophos have so much contempt with the community they are wanting help from in advising if their product is fit for purpose, which I don't think it is and certainly will advise people to stick to UTM, at least till their UI makes sense and is workable.
What would be nice is a colour, tag or a signature that differentiates the Sophos devs from the rest of us. I have been a bit dubious of replying to them with no capability of backing up their claim when they ask for certain sensitive informations.
Mike_H: i have (currently) the same opinion about this entire thing and agree 100% - they will see how many people will switch away when the current Sophos UTM rans out in 2-3 years and they forcefully try to sell this current garbage of Sophos OS / Coppernicus. I really hope they turn this around the right way.
I have been away on holidays for over 3 weeks, I was sadly mistaken in thinking I would comeback to v1-b3, but all I see is the same bug ridden version. Still can't mail to go through the mail proxy. The filter shows traffic, but the logs and reports show nothing. Some laptops will not get a connection through the firewall. I currently have 9 for a volunteer organisation. I haven't tested them all yet, but the hit rate is not high.
A very sad situation for a company that is trying to keep up or even pretend to lead in network security.
what I don't understand. As it is so different, where are the How To guides? Where is the PDF manual? They acknowledge the UI is so different. Where is the help in getting us to understand so we can aid our customers which will be their customers also. They totally miss the point of this community site.
just sad that they asked for our help and opinions and then when we answer and ask for help we get next to no response back
