[8.160][QUESTION][OPEN] 3com's wireless

Hello Friends !

I am using 3com's wireless "smart" wireless router .
I am using this wireless router in client mode , "Client Mode — Allows a device with an Ethernet port to connect to a wireless network"

i am able to connect to internet and its working Fine!,but i think there are some issues
1) wireless Security >>wireless client is show online show Mac address but ip is "unknown "
2)it change its Tx rate if signal is down (for 60-70 it show 34 Mbir ,for 50-60 it show 24 Mbit )
3)connected time is always show 00:00 this show even with latptop and nintendo (they are showing mac and ip )
4)on ASG 'DHCP >>lease table it show mac address of pc device where this wireless device is connect ,in this case can  i configure static binding for ip ?
5 (question )should i use this as a wireless device to test BETA ? which mode Encryption Mode u recommand in general,which mode should i use bridge to AP or separate zone

    Seperate zone means that the wifi traffic is tunneled to the ASG and ends up in its _own_ interface (called wlan0-wlan7). Did you configure a DHCP server for that interface?

    Hello Helmut !

    I was wrong when i say i was able to get wireless signel but not able to get dhcp now i understood the half way now i a using seprate zone and "NOW" i have added new wlan0 interface from interface now where i suppose connect wireless AP's ethernet cable (which interface or to another new switch or which switch ?)
     i have created DHCP on this sepeate zone 


    while setup bridge to ap we use  nic from asg in this case what we suppose to use ?
    or just connect wireless AP to which switch (as i am using seprate switch for lan and dmz )

    I am sorry i am taking u r time to understand basic setup in beta  

    please .....

    Now there are 5 interface  (internal,wan,dmz,sepratewireleszone,wireless (this wireless is bridge to AP  lan))

    now i am not getting AP  in pending AP, inactive AP ,active AP

    In order to get a separate zone network up and running you have to do the following:

    - Connect the AP via eth to the ASG on the interface (ethX) you think is most appropriate
    - Add that ethX interface to the list of allowed interfaces (Wireless Security -> Global Settings in webadmin), this allows the AP to connect to the ASG
    - Create a wireless network with seperate zone mode
    - Configure the new wlanX interface (Interfaces & Routing -> Interfaces in webadmin)
    - Create a DHCP server for this wifi interface (Network Services -> DHCP in webadmin)

    Now you should have a working wifi setup.

    Sorry still no luck i am able to get dhcp address from wifizone (192.168.100.x ) 
    i am  not able to browse the internet  but i am able to ping from support>>tools 
    i have added wifizone (separate zone )and wireless network 172.16.28.x in all proxy /ips 

    do i have to use same ip range for wireless network and separate zone  ?
