[7.901][BUG][FIXED] SMTP proxy stopped processing new incoming/outgoing email following up2date

Hi,

I applied the 7.901 up2date at circa 19.35 BST, it seems from that point onwards - after the system had rebooted no more incoming/outgoing email was processed until I went into the mail queue and forced a retry circa 23.19 BST.  I did notice that Astaro generated emails were being processed during this time though.

Any incoming/outgoing emails were processed with the final log entry being:

    same on My 7.901 after up2date ... hope there will be a fix soon ...

    Will now close my own post on that issue ..

    Unfortunately I have had to take the 7.901 server offline and revert back to my 7.504 production server - I couldn't get any emails in/out of the Astaro except system generated emails.  I hope we get a fix soon [:)]

    The same here, I also had to remove 7.901 SMTP proxy to get the mailflow up again. SMTP traffic is routed again through 7.504 ASG320.

    I found an easy workaround ... it seems that the smtpd crashes on scanning for Fileattachments ... so a simple rule to not scann for attachments fixes the problem and e-mail is working well again!

    Robert is right! When skipping Extension Blocking all mail is delivered.
    It's a workaround, but ok for the time beïng.

    Hi,

    please install the attached RPM, which should fix the 'scanner crash' issue.

    - copy the rpm to the asg

    and issue the following commands as 'root' on the ASG:

    rpm -Uhv file-4.24-43.17.687.g564e541.i686.rpm --force
    buildchroot.sh smtp
    buildchroot.sh http
    /var/mdw/scripts/smtp restart
    /var/mdw/scripts/httpproxy restart (only if you have the httpproxy enabled)

    Please report if that fixes the scanner crash messages. Thanks!
