[7.900][BUG][FIXED] Multipath failover - recovery time

Hi,

I've noticed that if a circuit fails under the Uplink balancing/multipath option, Astaro will continue to try to recover the circuit for 30-45 mins, however if a longer failure occurs Astaro stops trying to recover and leaves the circuit state down. Can this be changed as long outages unfortunately can and do occur.

Hi Darren,

there is no timeout, the ASG should try to recover the link forever.
Can you mail me your service_monitor.log in /var/log to uweber@astaro.com?

Is this happening regularly or only once?
Can you mail me your system.log of yesterday too?

So far I would say thats a problem of the virgin modem.
The ASG is sending traffic but the modem seems not connected.
After re-initiating an DHCP request, the connections is working again.

Hi da_merlin,

Unfortunately it hasn't been just restricted to the Virgin modem, it's also happened to the DSL modem as well (over the weekend). What is your email address?

Hi Ulrich,

Unfortunately Virgin are having a few problems on their network so it's been a fairly regular occurrence over the last few weeks for their circuit to drop for a few mins.

Emailed you the system.log file.

Next time this issue is happening could you try the following command instead of switching the interface off/on ?

"killall -s ALRM dhcpcd"

This should renew the DHCP lease from the modem. Maybe this is sufficient.

Will try that next time the link fails and stays down. I'd give it a few hours before Virgin will fall over again lol.

Nope, unfortunately that didn't work. Had to take the interface down before it would come back.

Mhm strange, seems only interface down/up seems to solve this issue.
Is there anything in kernel.log during that time?

Is it possible to get remote access via ssh if this issue is happening again?
