[7.470][BUG][NOTABUG] HTTP authentication

Hi All

I am using transparent proxy with authentication and ASG keeps asking for authentication every now and then. (3 times within the last 5 minutes)

I am not using https

I am also getting the content blocked when I authenticate

can you please paste the relevant log lines and your 'authentication timeout' in Web Security » HTTP/s » Advanced?

authentication timeout=900 (same values as in older versions)

I've increased the timeout to 9000 -as a workaround-and everything works fine.

UPDATE: I am still getting the same issues so I've changed to transparent with no authentication

Hi wingman,

can you please activate debugging for authentication daemon on console with the following command "killall -USR2 aua.bin" so we can check why the authentication is requested that often?
(You can disable debug with the same command, again)

Hi lilith

I will do that as soon as I am back in the UK (I am on vacation in Greece now [:)])

I will activate the debugging for authentication daemon for a day. What is the process for saving the debug information provided by the command? (do I just copy paste the output to a txt file?)

hi wingman,

you can download the authentication logfile directly via webadmin, debug info will be written in the default aua.log [:)]

Have a restful holiday in Greece! *slightly-jealous* ;-)
