After MR7 , IPS Pattern fails to update 3.13.89

Hi All,

IPS is not updating anymore after MR7. Can someone else confirm this behaviou?

    my IPS is still downloading the update.

    My daily reports (3) have not arrived yet. They are generated at approx 1am.

    Update:- restarted the XG, the missing reports appeared and the downloading IPS pattern is now showing failed. I have tried manually initiating a download (update) but the IPS still shows failed.

  • Two other appliances updated fine the IPS. No problem with them.

    just want to confirm that my daily reports have 2 hours of delay. test email from reporting sends email correctly (in time).

    MR7 also does not download other patterns, such as AV. After many hours, the "download" state, and the new automatic pattern download sessions do not start.

    So we have a problem with MR7.
    When the time comes that new firmware version will not break anything ??

    With MR7 only receiving of mail is not working as well as IPS Update is not working.  Log viewer also does not show Email logs. While rolled back to MR6 ,Every thing is OK except IPS is not updating.

    I fell that for last  couple of Releases  such as  MR4 and MR5 DNS was breaking on VPN. Team need to take rigorous testing and then only release Major Release.

    I will appreciate quick resolution  for MR7  as it contains major vulnerability fix

    a restart appears to have fixed the issue, all reports came through on time this morning.

    I reinstalled the Firmware on my home system (because I tried to move IPS folders, U2DVERSION, etc) without success and now IPS has updated successfully. I am on MR7 but now:

    • WAF and Client Authentication fail to update
    • Time is wrong. The time zone from GUI is correct but from CLI and from log viewer the Timezone is BST.

    Attached some screenshot. I guess the pattern update process changed because moving U2DVERSION file does not work anymore. We are waiting for next monday from an official look at those issue. Of course reporting and all email from XG are coming with wrong time. Reboot or setting the date from cli does not help in both issues.

    not a fun way to spend the afternoon. I have checked my GUI and CLI time/date and both show the same correct values.

  • It was morning! :-)

    Anyway it seems that uploading the backup config after the initial setup did not correctly adjust the Timezone somewhere into xg. Timezone file from advanced shell was correct too. So what I did to fix was to set the timezone to Europe/London from GUi, reboot, configure Europre/Rome again from GUI, reboot again. All good.

    I am looking forward to having a fix for pattern update issue. There should be a way to force the download of patterns from scratch like we did last year when Avira failed to update.

    same problem here but with the Sophos AV definitions.

    The pattern update shows "downloading" and the current version "1.0.11418".

    But in the log viewer I have the following entry:

    "Sophos AV definitions upgraded from 1.0.11417 to 1.0.11418."

    Update after some hours:

    The next pattern update 1.0.11421 was triggered and everything is back to normal. :-)
