Configuring SEC 4.7 without internet connection

Hi all,

I have to configure an EC 4.7 in a network without internet connection.

I have a SEC 4.5 server in the internet zone. I have configured a new subscription to download the 9.7 antivirus

Every day, a copy of Warehouse  and cids is made from internet zone to production zone

I have followed the procedure to confgure SEC 4x in air-gapped network, but it doesn't work : http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/64899.html

The warehouse folder \\xxx\sophosupdate is not up to date, only few files are copied from \\xxx\sophosupdatemanager and no CID folder is created

Thanks for your help

  • I have been successful in installing SEC4.7 on a server without internet connection following the KB 64899 and some suggestions already in this post.  I'm a bit stuck now as the clients are only getting 150 IDE's and not the 284 I see on on the clients where there is internet connection.  Does anyone know why this is happening?

  • Question fpo69, when I need to do an update do I only copy the warehouse directory over to my update source directory?

  • Hello Mauk,

re: Number of IDEs - you must also take the Detection Data into account. Right now there are 154 IDEs for 4.67 while for 4.66 the number is 288 (latest numbers are available here). So your "detached" server is almost up to date (assuming it distributes 4.67).

To perform an update you just copy the Warehouse and instruct the update manager to update (unless you have specified a rather short interval in which case you can just wait for the next scheduled check). Note that you can use a removable medium for the update source location.

  • I'm still not sure why this is happening but I deleted the warehouse directory and copied the warehouse folder from production.  I now have 157 IDE files but not the 291 that production computers have.

I did the update now under update manager.

  • As I said, the numbers are correct for the current (VDL4.67) and previous (VDL4.66) version respectively. Could it be that your production computers use a subscription for Previous? Please check the VDL versions.

  • Hi QC,

Thanks for the help, I don't know why they had a two version behind setting in production.
