**UPDATE** Development has identified root cause and is working on a fix.

Hello,

We are seeing delays with policy changes and enforcement in Sophos Central (US-West region) as well as installation failures due to inability of new endpoint installations to initially register. Our engineers are working to restore latency. Please note your endpoints remain protected. Updates will be provided on this thread.

Thank you,

  • i think the issue is which data center your installation uses, i used US as the other options mention not being able to use certain products of features (which sounds ridiculous in itself) I suspect EU data centre located users are fine.

  • Thanks, it does seem suspiciously like there is a problem at Sophos end as all past installs have gone through fine (after Firewall modification)

I`ve logged a support call with Sophos

  • Into day 3 with this is really unacceptable for what this platform is trying to replace, missing the point of "cloud" entirely. Also the status board page lists this as a performance impact and not a disruption, I can only image what disruption would be.

My comments like many others in this thread are borne of workplace frustration, large scale laptop SCCM OS deployments put on hold.

    Time is money Sophos.

  • This is absolutely unacceptable.  Delays with the enforcement?  Are you kidding me?  How about if you were in the middle of a deployment, your screwed???

How about some transparency here.  This isn't only the west, and how in the world is this a "performance issue"

We have a ton of machines that are not protected at all now....

We are starting to really regret out decision to go to sophos...

  • ALSO Belgium, UK and NL have problems installing and registering PCS.

    Waiting on the fix!!!

  • A huge number of our endpoints are showing 'out of date'.  Does this mean we are vulnerable or are they just not reporting correctly?  This is extremely alarming!

  • Another customer here...

I think we literally bought our licensing (after successful trial) the day before this happened. And now guess what... we are stuck in the middle of a company wide roll-out and I have some unhappy people. This is dragging on for three days. I would be interested (as I am sure many others would be) to know what the root cause was that you all discovered and how you plan on not having this happen again in the future.

I realize some things can only be done so quickly but if there is any more attention that can be given to fix this more quickly, please do.

    Thanks,

  • I see they changed the outage to include all of USA - we are on the East coast and on day 3 of being unable to deploy endpoints..

  • This isn't just affecting those who are mid-deployment.  Our newly imaged machines aren't correctly contacting the server for new provisioning.  The status page claims this is a performance degradation.  This is obviously a disruption. Your post states "We're seeing some delays with policy changes" my policy changes haven't updated in two days now.  Delay?

By the way, your update isn't timestamped.  How long ago did the dev team identify the root cause?

  • I hate to say it, but we may not see a fix for quite awhile.  The Cloud Web Gateway has been broken since May 21st and there have been no updates on the status of repairing it.
