Error message in launchd.log

Hi,

It seems I have some Sophos leftovers hanging around my Mac. How do I remove them?

I get the following message in the launchd.log:

(system) <Warning>: failed lookup: name = com.sophos.xpc.broker, flags = 0x8, requestor = com.sophos.endp[943], error = 3: No such process

For context:

  1. This is a new MacBook Pro using M1 Apple silicon (it's 2 weeks old)
  2. It's running Monterey 12.0.1
  3. I did have Sophos at one point on my previous MacBook Pro (license paid by company). Recently, I switched to another product, still on my previous MacBook
  4. To setup my new MacBook, I used Apple's transfer software which, I speculate, copied a problem that existed in my previous MacBook Pro

Warm regards,

Christophe

  • Hello Christophe,

Thank you for reaching out to the Sophos Community.

I would like to ask if you have already tried using the "Remove Sophos Endpoint.app" to perform a cleanup on the affected device? If the removal app wasn’t restored to your device along with the artifacts of the AV, it’s possible to download the app from the link above.
